William spent over 20 years doing management consulting (a large part of his career was in KPMG). Prior to Strategy+ and after he left KPMG in 2014, he was the Group COO of TAHPS Group Berhad, a property and plantation Public Listed Company.
Previously, he was an Executive Director in KPMG Management & Risk Consulting. He started from leading the Portal Strategy & Management services to Head of Strategy & Operations for the Management Consulting division. He spent 12 years in KPMG.
In KPMG, he led various policy reforms, strategy, and operations improvements projects in varied sectors of industries. Specifically, on the public-sector front, he covered government ministries and their agencies, development authorities and government-linked companies specifically in areas of policy reform and strategy initiatives. On the private sector front, he has led in numerous projects on strategy development, strategic scenario modelling, business and budget planning and implementation plans.
He started his career in a consultancy firm specializing in strategic cost and financial management. His specific involvement was in the areas of activity-based cost management, process improvements, value-based management and financial modelling. Later, he joined a start-up company specializing in software and internet solutions as the Finance Manager thereafter as the Financial Controller.
After his stint in the start-up, he joined a private equity firm as an Investment Manager performing research and financial feasibility and business valuations. In 2002, he joined KPMG as a Manager.He also served as a Consultant under ADB’s Financial and Economics Specialist resource network.
